Flatten a PDF
Filled in, and locked
Drop a filled-in form or a reviewed PDF. Fields, ticks, comments and stamps become part of the page, so the copy you send cannot be quietly changed. No account, and the file never leaves this tab.
Stays on this device. The file never leaves your browser. No account, nothing stored.
What you send is what they get
A fillable PDF stays fillable on the other side. Flattening makes the values part of the page, the way a printout would.
Form values stay put.
Typed text, ticked boxes, radio choices and dropdowns become part of the page. Nobody can edit them, clear them or fill the form in again.
Comments and stamps, locked in.
Highlights, drawings and stamps stay exactly where they are, but can no longer be moved or deleted. Sticky notes keep their icon.
Text stays searchable.
By default the rest of the page is left as it is, so the words in your document stay selectable and searchable.
Or lock everything.
Turn pages into images when nothing on them may change. Text can no longer be selected then, and the file may grow. The tool says so before you download.
Check the page first.
The preview shows the selected page after flattening. Step through the pages and see what the other side will get.
Nothing is uploaded.
The file stays in this browser tab. We never see the contract. There is no account and nothing to store.
Before the file leaves your hands
Forms and reviewed drafts go out to suppliers, customers and auditors. Flatten them first, so they arrive the way you sent them.
- Vendor and onboarding forms
A supplier form nobody can quietly edit
You filled in the supplier onboarding form: company details, VAT number, bank account, contact person. Flatten it before it goes back, so no value can be changed or cleared on the way. Should a value be hidden rather than locked, like an account number on a copy for the file? Black it out with Redact PDF instead. Signing it too? Make a signature image, place it on the form, then flatten.IN FYNK - Reviewed drafts
Comments locked into the version that goes out
Your team marked up the draft with highlights, strike-throughs and an APPROVED stamp, and the counterparty should see them, not delete them. Flatten the comments into the pages. If the file’s properties still name the author or the app it came from, remove the PDF metadata as well.IN FYNK

Frequently asked questions.
It turns form fields and comments into part of the page. Values, ticks, highlights and stamps stay visible where they were, but nobody can edit, clear or move them any more. Sticky notes keep their icon, but the note text that opens on a click is removed with the comment.
No. The file stays in this browser tab as local data. Flattening runs on your device. We do not receive the document, so there is nothing for us to store or delete.
Keep text selectable for almost every file: the document stays searchable and about the same size. Turn pages into images when nothing in the file may change at all, not even with PDF editing software. Text can then no longer be selected, and the file may grow.
No. Flattening locks what is visible, it does not remove anything. If the file has areas marked for redaction that were never applied, the tool flags them, because the text under them is still in the file. Use Redact PDF to remove content for good, and Remove PDF metadata for author names and editing history. Both are free fynk tools that run in your browser.
Flattening writes a new file and turns the signature field into part of the page, so the download no longer counts as digitally signed. The tool warns you when it finds a signature. Flatten before signing, and keep the signed original.
Up to 25 MB and 200 pages per file. A password-protected file needs Unlock PDF first, another free fynk tool that runs in your browser. Dynamic forms made with Adobe LiveCycle (XFA) build their pages inside Adobe Reader, so a browser cannot flatten them. The tool tells you when it finds one.
Not for this tool. In fynk you place text, date and signature fields on any PDF, the other side fills them in and signs, and every view, edit and signature is logged in the audit trail.
